Download TOT formulas to Microsoft Excel from a Management Reporter report (CU10 Feature)

One of the most voted for features for Management Reporter in Microsoft Connect is the ability to include formulas when downloading reports to Microsoft Excel. In Management Reporter 2012 CU10, users will be able to include TOT row formulas in downloaded Excel files.

Check out the video below to see this feature action:

I can't view YouTube from our network (it's blocked), but the concept sounds great.  Thanks for adding that to MR.

Hi Kathy, Here's a bit more detail for you. There's now an option in the report definition to include formulas as part of the Excel download. Rows that have TOT formulas will have the formulas downloaded as part of the Excel download.

Do you know if there are plans to add other formulas in the future, like column calculations?

I would echo Pam Robertson.  We would like to export Column Calculations.  Am I missing something or is this not available in the current version?  If not available, when will this be made available?  This is integral in our reporting process. Thank you.

I also would like to see Column calcuations added.  Not being able to export colunn formulas is still a huge limitation for us.

Thanks for all of the feedback. Two additional suggestions have been entered for formulas, one for CAL rows and one for CALC columns. Please use the links below to vote. connect.microsoft.com/.../include-calc-column-formulas-when-downloading-reports-to-excel connect.microsoft.com/.../include-cal-row-formulas-when-downloading-reports-to-excel Voting on these suggestions will help us prioritize features for upcoming releases.

@Sally - we've released a hotfix for CU10 that should fix the issues you are seeing when downloading formulas. You can download it here: mbs.microsoft.com/.../MROverview

Hi Jill, We experience the same issue as Sally Higgins with the strange error message about the VariableOffsets.. but we don't use the DataMart, only the legacy connector on our production system. Will the fix work equally for the legacy and the DM connector ?

@Beat - Yes, it will also work for legacy.
