wikipedia–#keepitfree

i’m getting around to a lot of housekeeping tasks in this final week of 2010 – one of which is giving back.  there are a number of organizations i support including our church, the maccfund, the cowalunga bike tour, the american brain tumor association, the family service agency (big brothers big sisters), kiwanis club of dekalb, the susan g. komen *** cancer foundation, safe passage, the american cancer society (madison, wi), dekalb toastmasters, and this year added stand up to cancer, the dekalb county youth service bureau and just now wikipedia.  the information on wikipedia’s fundraiser was eye opening – one of the top 10 websites in the world, run as a nonprofit (that fact hadn’t occurred to me before this), available in different languages (not everything is in english!).

this year i’m thankful to be able to add wikipedia to the list of non-profits i support with my time, talent or money.
