In Ray Ozzie we Trust

This month’s Wired magazine has a 11 page article on Microsoft's Chief Software Architect Ray Ozzie. Documenting his eventful life from his love for the PLATO system which he discovered as a sophomore studying at the University of Illinois, right through the his time with Lotus Notes, the creation of Groove and finally to joining Microsoft.

The article also discusses Ray’s and now Microsoft’s vision for the future regarding cloud computing and Window’s Azure.

Even with a twitter-esk overview of Ray in his own words:

I love software, because if you can imagine something, you can build it.

I love Windows, because without it there would be no PC. There would be no PC developers. There might not even be a Web.

I love the ubiquitous Web because of the connections that it opened up.

I love competition. But when we're behind a competitor, I hate it when we find ourselves just chasing their taillights.

This article really makes me proud to be a Microsoft Employee.

The article can be read online here.
