XNA Game Studio 2.0 - What everyone should know
If you haven't heard yet, XNA Game Studio 2.0 (as announced at GameFest) will have two features everyone will love (among others):
- Compatibility with all versions of Visual Studio 2005 - I can't even guesstimate the number of people who have personally asked me about this. Now I have good news to tell them.
- Xbox Live network API - Multiplayer gaming, here we come! This API includes ways of pairing games based on the title, and other smart / ubiquitous things we've come to love about gaming on Xbox Live. It means devs won't need to implement a lot of complex code for matching players. How cool is that?
And while I'm doing shameless plugs, on the right side of my blog you'll find some new links. In particular, check out my music and art (at DeviantArt) sometime. Disclaimer, there is a wide variety of art on DeviantArt and I can't be held responsible for what you may find in the surrounding content. It's usually not bad but I've been surprised a few times.
