MMS 2012: 1 Session & 100’s of Customers Conversations
It’s that time of the year! The Microsoft Management Summit (MMS) has moved back to its favored home at “The Venetian Hotel” and at the moment is an absolute sold out house. This conference ranks high upon my list of favorites as it provides everything the IT professional desires – System Center in’s & out’s, do’s and don’ts, and a whole lot more. It’s Vegas after all, ya know?
In this year’s conference, you will learn about the great work our division is doing to enable Private Cloud’s with System Center 2012. Beyond this, you can learn a lot about our client management strategy, products, and how we are paving the way with world-class management products. This might sound like it is a sales pitch but I do truly feel that System Center 2012 brings everything together in a nice package that any Windows, or non-Windows, environment needs to effectively manage the infrastructure.
I will deliver a talk relating to the feature pack that our team is developing in partnership with the Configuration Manager team called Package Conversion Manager (PCM). My colleague Kristina Ashment will join me as we explore how you can take advantage of the powerful new Application Model that is native in Configuration Manager 2012. There are many questions that you might ask around the benefits of the Application Model and we will help you explore them, such as, what types of packages & programs in 2012 are ideal to move and what work you should do before migrating them to 2012 so that PCM is ideal for moving.
We will discuss all the new features added to PCM such as the Scheduled Package Analyzer as well as the popular PCM Plug-in extensibility model and much, much, more. We’d love to have you join us as we explore the AppModel, installing PCM and all the details around converting your packages.
Beyond this, our team is also delivering a talk on the new User-Driven Installation (UDI) that is shipping with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2012 (MDT)
Leveraging PCM to Convert Applications into the New Application Model for Configuration Manager 2012

I hope to see a lot of you at MMS 2012. If you like, please feel free to reach out to me via Twitter, Facebook, Linked In, or via my blog to setup some time to sit down with me as I love learning from you!
Enjoy!
Thanks,
