should this blog be technical-only?

When my blog was on GotDotNet, I asked if I should limit myself to technical issues, or if I should discuss any old thing that interests me.  (I’d prefer the latter.)  The response I received was that non-technical posts are fine.

Now that I’m hosted on the ASP.NET site, though, I think I’ll ask the question again – because the expectations might be different in this community.  I’m new to this site, so I’m not really familiar with its best practices.

So let me know what you would like to see: just technical comments (in my case, about .NET, web services, and software testing), or also items of more general interest?

Personally I'd prefer technical only. Or perhaps two blogs, one technical one for fun then people can choose.

I'd prefer techical .net related posts, since that is the focus of this site. Personal blogs belong somewhere else(we all know how this feed was during the last matrix screening, let's hope that does not happen again during LOTR).

I don't know how it works...but it'd be nice if the main feed were focussed on .NET...Is that an option, can you choose for posts to be shown on the main page or only be shown on your blog?

I think a good rule of thumb is to create .NET related. If you look at the original people on this site, it wasn't technical only. But it definitely focused on .NET and people involved in .NET.

I think probably the model month of posting could be like what Drew posted in his first month here: http://weblogs.asp.net/dmarsh/archive/022003.aspx

Lots of technical goodies in there, but it wasn't a tip a minute or anything like that.
It seems as of recent some people have started to subscribe to the main feed like it is supposed to be a non-stop technical KB, which when it all begin it definitely wasn't.

My philosophy is that it's your blog, i'd post whatever you feel like. :) Sometimes its nice to have both tech and non-tech.

Well, I'm a little late with this..but anyway...to echo Steve, this is your blog and you can post whatever you like. Obviously people will be interested in Indigo, web services and .NET stuff...but since we're all geeks :-), what interests you will most probably interest us too..
