My first VP meeting

I presented to my GM a while back, and he thought I should discuss my project with John Conners, the CFO of Microsoft.  As you may be aware, John has actually announced his retirement from MSFT, so instead I will be meeting with Scott Di Valerio, the Corporate Controller, who is one of John's direct reports.

The interesting thing about this is that I have been at Microsoft for less than 3 months, and am meeting with someone who is two levels from the CEO.  This is an incredible opportunity for me to get some exposure at the highest levels of the organization.  In addition, our project has such a cross company scope, if we can explain it effectively to Scott, we could get some really great sponsorship.

VPs are just like everyone else. They have to eat, breath, sleep and go to the bathroom. I hope exposure isn't what life is about for you.
