First Major Deliverable and Microsoft Methodologies

I have just finished my first major deliverable, the so-called Vision/Scope document.  This document is the first major document to be created to get a project approved and on to planning stage.  This document give a basic description of what your project will do, and how it will do it.  I will be presenting to the approvers on Friday, and hope things will go well.

An interesting thing about Microsoft is that there are actually two development methodologies used inside the company.  The product teams use something called Product Development Methodology (PDM), while the consulting guys and some other groups use something called Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF).  Theoretically, PDM is best suited for developing software that will be delivered to customers, whereas MSF is flexible to support any type of IT (or other) project.  I would say that this is actually true.  Microsoft makes MSF available to our customers (and non-customers, I guess!) at https://www.microsoft.com/technet/itsolutions/msf/default.mspx.  Incidentally, my group uses MSF...
