SQL PASS Camp - First one of it's kind in Denver May 20th

 Colorado PASS Camp

Wednesday, May 17, 2006

Denver , CO

Call for Speakers

PASS Camp is a one day SQL Server community building event being presented by PASS and the Official PASS Chapters of Colorado Springs and Boulder. It is by pre-registration only and someone may register as a speaker or to attend. We expect 80-100 to attend the Code Camp.

Three tracks: DB Admin, DB Developer, and BI Developer.

Microsoft is graciously hosting the PASS Camp at their Denver Tech Center offices. They’ve opened three multi-media classrooms for our use.

PASS Camp sessions are short, to the point, and filled with code and actual hands-on demonstrations. Each session is only 35 minutes long, so we can pack several sessions into the day. We don’t want to see PowerPoint presentations – 2-3 slides at the most to introduce the session. These sessions are about showing how to do some cool new feature in SQL Server 2005. A successful session will go deep into a single topic.

Short 35 minutes sessions make PASS Camp more accessible for developers who don’t give presentations for a living. If you have something to show the developer community, this is a great forum for your presentation.

Because these sessions are different than the standard conference sessions, there will be a mandatory speaker preparation meeting about a week before the code camp.

You must bring your own notebook for your presentation. You’ll have a chance to test the video connections during the speaker prep meeting. There will be a room on site for speaker prep during the day of PASS Camp.

Any code samples you show must be made available for download from PASS Camp web site. The code must be emailed no later than May 15th.

We are not covered travel and expenses for speakers, but you will receive a way cool shirt and some swag.

If you’re interested please submit a session title, abstract, and bio, by March 20th. Email to pauln@SQLServerBible.com

Attendees can register here please keep in mind seats are limited to 100: https://www.msevents.microsoft.com/cui/eventdetail.aspx?culture=en-US&eventid=1032290950
