US Imagine Cup Winners 2012
The 2012 Imagine Cup is now history for most teams. A few are still involved as they are on their way to Sydney Australia for the world wide finals this July. So far that includes FlashFood who will be representing the US in the Software design invitational. Congratulations to them. We know they will represent us well Down Under. In other news the high school team from Springbrook High School took second place in the Game Design – Xbox category. That is two years in a row that a high school team has taken second in that category. If there was ever any doubt that high school kids could compete this should erase that. BTW Digital Infinity can still qualify for a trip to Australia if they win the People’s Choice voting. I’m voting for them every day.
We had a few surprises for the competitors this year. I think they may have expected the nice backpack, the fun events, and a few small trinkets. The brand new Acer laptop they all got the night they arrived was probably a surprise though. And yesterday at the closing event they were all given a brand new Nokia Lumina 800 Windows Phone. I am sure that they’ll all put these devices to good use.
