Ourmedia.org and Brightcove: 2 sides of the broadband content coin

Ourmedia.org is a free media content hosting and delivery site....if you have got video, audio, music, screecasts, or videoblogs you've created and want to share, then Ourmedia.org is for you. How is the service funded? Well, it turns out that Brewster Kayle founder of Alexa sold the company to Amazon for $400 million. Brewster uses this cash to fund his philanthropic project Internet Archive and this is where the files are stored.

Marc Canter is the founder of Macromedia who acquired Allaire Corp. Jemery Allaire became Macromedia's CTO, then left and launched Brightcove about a month ago. It seems that both Canter and Allaire are travelling the same road in that they are providing two types of broadband content mass distribution - Ourmedia.org being the non-commercial service and Brightcove the commercial version.
