Q: What will happen to Azure Data Lake Analytics after the service is retired on February 29th, 2024?
A: After February 29th, 2024, users will not be able to provision new Azure Data Lake Analytics instances, and the service will be discontinued and not be accessible any longer.
Q: Are we still able to access our data in ADLS Gen1 after the service is retired on February 29th, 2024?
A: Files in ADLS Gen1 will be deleted on February 29th, 2024 and users will not be able to use their ADLS Gen1 instances. Because Azure Data Lake Storage Gen1 is the underlying storage of Azure Data Lake Analytics, please refer to the ADLS Gen1 Q&A for other answers related to this question.
Q: If I delete my Azure Data Lake Analytics account, what will happen to the associated storage accounts?
A: You cannot delete an ADLS Gen1 account that is a primary storage account for an ADLA account until you delete the ADLA account. When you delete an ADLA account, your associated storage accounts will still be available. Note that the deletion of the ADLA account will delete the meta data associated with the table data in the /catalog
folder.
