I want to create a workspace subscript on Cosmos-bingads-bi, the website prompts me that I do not have the permission. Where should I apply for the permission?

Hi @Jie Li , welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. It seems that you are not able to create a Synapse workspace because appropriate resource providers are not registered to your subscription. Please go through the step by step process to resolve this issue: 1. Go to Azure Portal and search for Subscription and select it (***Cosmos_AIR_BingAds_BI_100002* )as mentioned in screenshot:** 2) Select resource provider from the settings left menu and search for Synapse and register it as mentioned in below screenshot through step 1 to step 4: 3) Repeat the same steps and register the Microsoft.SQL resource provider as well. After this you should be able to create the Synapse workspace without any error. Please let us know if you still face any issue and we can discuss further on the same. In my case I had to use the same region as the subscription, especially is you use Visual Studio 2022 free subscription.

There could be 2 reasons why you are not able to see the subscription.

1) In Azure Portal, go to right top corner and click on logged in user name, then click on Switch Directory. You will have the option of changing the directory, please try to change it to other directory and check if you can see the subscription now.

2)If still you dont see the subscription, then you might not have proper access to see the subscription. You can ask the admin of subscription to add you as a contributor or co-administrator role to this subscription and then you should be able to access it. If you cannot be added, please ask the admin to add those 2 resource provider to subscription as mentioned in the initial answer and then you should be able to create synapse workspace

thanks, I have another question, which kind or permission role should I have to register 'Microsoft.Sql' and 'Microsoft.Synapse' in step 4 above
