PC Health Check is reporting my laptop to be incompatible with Windows 11 due to my processor being 'unsupported', but it's listed as a supported processor on Microsoft's list. It is the Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.71 GHz processor. All other requirements are met. Is anyone else seeing this with Win11?

Your processor is not listed as the supported processor, I believe you might have observed compatible CPU for Windows 10. The correct website to check compatibility list of CPU for Windows 11 is:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/supported/windows-11-supported-intel-processors
In this case, I advise you to open Feedback Hub app and file a report and request your CPU becomes compatible, there is no guarantee but filing a report will draw attention for the Windows team and others could upvote it.

I too have a 3 year old laptop a Lenovo that was not particularly cheap, It is the 7th generation intel i5, 7200 cpu@2.50Ghtz.. and find I cannot upgrade to windows 11 which I think is a disgrace and when it says you may have to buy a laptop compatible, it boils my blood. Shame on Microsoft. Me a 74 year old veteran and expected to keep buying laptops every 3 years?.

    Hi Daniela-5445,

When using the Windows upgrade assistant it is designed to find parameters that do not meet the upgrade criteria.
If all of the upgrade parameters are found then it can be upgraded.

Any computer that had failed upgrades can be clean installed with Windows 11.

    This is an unsupported installation.

So at any time in the future there could be problems with Windows or Microsoft Defender updates.

And the computer may not benefit from the improvements in performance, security, and reliability.

    Docs-4663 - interesting information.
I do a clean installation. I get during installation no hint, no message, just nothing that the CPU is not compatible. It runs through.
    The computer works.
At least I would expect to get a hint - the same which the compatibility check is providing.
The different behaviour of the clean installer and the compatibility check is inconsistent.

I tried the same on another computer - Clean install, CPU not supported, no TPM Module in addition.
The clean install process did abort installation.

I agree to the other comments - This limitation is producing masses of electronic waste.
It would be at least good if Microsoft states a reason why such a CPU is not compatible.

Unsupported installation: I'm considering to get rid of Windows and to use Linux Mint.
