Managing users OneDrive ?

Where can I find the page to manage OneDrive for some of my users? [not global company-wide setting].

As Global Admin I wanted to help users to secure and fix the permission but was not sure where to do it from the https://admin.onedrive.com/ page.

Hello @EnterpriseArchitect ,

According to my research, OneDrive admin settings have moved. To learn where to find them, see Find OneDrive admin settings.

You can try to the following steps to manage permissions for certain users

1.Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center as Global Admin.

2.Users >> Active users >> find and select the user that you want to manage

3.On the User Details Panel, click on OneDrive >> Create link to files

4.It will auto generat a OneDrive link, click on this link. Then, you can access this user's OneDrive.

5.On the OneDrive page, click on Return to classic OneDrive

6.Click Settings >> Site settings >> (Users and Permissions) Site permissions. You can add/remove/modify user permissions

I came across this actually looking for the "official" way to remove the access when the admin is done. I can provide the following URL hack as a way to do it in the browser. This assumes you are on the user's OneDrive for Business home page (/_layouts/15/onedrive.aspx):

Replace "onedrive.aspx" in the URL with mngsiteadmin.aspx. This opens the Site Collection Admins settings page.

Remove the administrator's account.

Click OK.

Note - you will then get an access denied page since you just removed your access, but that is expected behavior.

The other option would be to use the SharePoint Online Management Shell (PowerShell). The relevant command is Set-SPOUser (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/sharepoint-online/set-spouser?view=sharepoint-ps). Be sure to use the -IsSiteCollectionAdmin $false switch (note - you can also use this to add an account to the site with $true and have the same effect as using the admin web page).

I was trying to research to see if there was some automated process that would scrub the admin access after a period of time if you did it via the admin web page (may have to submit that on user voice), but haven't seen anything yet (not gotten far in research yet, though).

Quite a bit late to this but the only way to remove this is to go to the SharePoint admin center, click on more features, then open user profiles. Then go to Manage user profiles, search for the user, hover over the correct user and click on the drop down to the right, then manage site collection owners. You can then see your user listed under site collection admins and you can remove it from there.

It is a bit late I think, but when you go away from de admin portal. the link also dissapear. so generating a link is only legit for the session.
