Ricoh M4503 Scanner/printer scan to folder not working

Hello everyone,

We have this Ricoh M4503 printer and scanner at the office that is connected to the network. We've configured the address book from their website, and everything is set. But whenever I try to scan to folder, nothing shows up. When I check the Scanned File Status it just says 'waiting', after a while, it would be updated to 'error' and get a message saying:

'Connection with the destination has failed.
Check the status and connection.
To check the current status,
press [Scanned Files Status].

and sometimes we'd get this message:

'Authentication with the destination has failed. Check settings.
To check the current status,
press [Scanned File Status]'

Just some information:

  • An employee was able to use the scan to folder feature and she was using an Apple OS.
  • I am using Windows 10 pro, updated to the latest version.
  • Scan to email works fine.
  • I've tried using SMB v1 and it didn't work, and I'd prefer to not use it for its vulnerability.
  • I am not the only one facing the issue, other employees couldn't scan to folder either.
  • The folder is shared I've checked with permissions to read and write.
  • Another employee with windows 10 pro was able to use it, though it wasn't updated to the latest version. Could I get some insight on this please? I've been trying to fix it for 3 days now, I could provide more information if necessary.

    "Connection with the destination has failed."
    An antivirus program or a firewall may be preventing the machine connecting to your computer.

    And make sure the latest firmware updated.
