We were notified of a an auto renewal, however the renewal did not go through and the domain was deleted. We are in the window where a support ticket should restore but the support bot does not allow for a ticket creation. Please advise.

Hello @Scott Friesen sharing some of our conversation here to further help the community.

To clarify custom domain added to a web app does not expire. App Service Domains on the other hand does and need to be renewed every year.

If you want to add a custom domain to a web app, you will need an Active domain with a valid public dns server.

Seeing that your App Service Domain expired in January, a redemption fee to GoDaddy of around $80.00 needs to be paid in order to get that domain back.

If you want to proceed. the steps are:

    1. Create a GoDaddy account and share the account number, first & last name and email address with us privately.
    2. We will start the process with GoDaddy and you will receive an email from them within 24 hours on business day.
    3. You will need to pay the redemption fee to GoDaddy site and activate the domain there.
    4. After activated, the domain can't be transferred back to Azure, since we don't support transfer-on

    Best,

    -Grace
