How to assign one region/label to multiple table cells

Hello,

As in the question's title - I am trying to assign the same label to multiple table cells, as that label's cell spans multiple table rows, and I need the value to exist in all the rows.

From what I've checked, the Document Intelligence UI doesn't allow this, as it removes the assignment of the label from the previous cell when I click on a new one.
It also doesn't permit assigning the same label to two cells in separate tables.

How can I fix this issue?

In Document Intelligence, overlapping fields in tables are supported, but there are specific limitations. To assign one label to multiple table cells that span multiple rows, you need to use the region labeling feature. This allows you to designate spans of content for each field, including overlaps.

However, keep in mind that overlapping fields cannot span table rows, and any single token or word can only be labeled as two fields. To successfully label overlapping fields, ensure that your dataset contains at least one sample with the expected overlap.

If you're encountering issues with the UI removing previous assignments when selecting new cells, it might be due to the constraints of the labeling tool. You may need to adjust your approach by ensuring that your dataset includes the necessary overlaps and using the region labeling feature effectively.
