Hi Xiyuan Feng (Shanghai Wicresoft Co Ltd),
When VMs and a Storage Account (SA) are in the same region, charges for data transfer between them are typically not incurred. Specifically, traffic within the same Azure region is generally free of charge, which means that Standard Data Transfer Out charges would not apply for traffic between the VMs and the Storage Account.
However, it's important to note that while internal traffic is free, there may still be charges associated with other aspects of the services, such as storage costs or VM usage.
- If the VMs and Storage Accounts are in different Availability Zones within the same region, charges may apply for data transfer between those zones. Typically, this charge is around $0.014 per GB.
- Standard Data Transfer Out charges apply when data is sent from Azure to the internet or to another Azure region. However, this does not affect internal traffic within the same region.
However, be mindful of other associated costs related to storage and VM usage. Always refer to the Pricing Calculator | Microsoft Azure and the https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/ for the most accurate and up-to-date information on pricing.
