Unable to Redeem Additional Azure Credits – "Subscription not created" Error

I was initially approved for $5,000 (out of possible $150,000) in Azure credits through the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub, which have already been fully utilized. After submitting our required startup demo video, I was granted an additional $20,000 in credits.

Currently, I have used approximately $18,000 out of the $20,000 in credits. In the Founders Hub portal, my checklist shows 9 out of 9 tasks completed (all green). However, my engagement score is displaying in brown, and I’m unsure if that’s contributing to the issue or what it signifies.

Our startup is actively using Azure for critical R&D work, so continued access to these credits is essential for us.

When I attempt to redeem additional credits, I consistently encounter the following error: “Subscription not created” — with no further explanation provided.

I have already tried troubleshooting steps such as clearing my browser cache, using a private/incognito window, and even switching browsers, but the issue persists.

I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue so we can continue leveraging Azure for our development efforts.

Thank you for your help.

    Hi Samir Rawat,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Log into the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub, go to the Benefits tab, and select Redeem in the Azure sponsorship benefits section. This is a common step to ensure that the credits are properly linked to your account.

If you receive an error stating that you do not have a free Azure account, it may be due to several factors. One possibility is that you have previously used Azure credits from another Microsoft program. In this case, please ensure that those credits are fully utilized before attempting to activate your Founders Hub credits.
