OpenAI have recently made o1 and o3 models available to use in their assistants/agents. Is this feature coming to azure soon? Quickly being able to connect vector stores to reasoning models like o1/o3 would be a game changer for me.

    Hi Williams, Dan,
Greetings & Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum! Thank you for sharing your query.

As of February 2025, OpenAI's o1 and o3-mini reasoning models are available through the Azure OpenAI Service. The o1 model, introduced in December 2024, offers advanced multimodal reasoning capabilities, accepting both text and image inputs. The o3-mini model, launched in January 2025, builds upon the o1 model, providing enhanced efficiency and cost-effectiveness, with features like reasoning effort control and tool support.

Regarding the integration of these models into Azure's Assistants API, there is no official announcement yet.
You can keep an eye on the Azure OpenAI Service release notes for updates. The What's new in Azure OpenAI Service will be updated accordingly with more details on the availability of o1 and o3-mini models in the Assistants API.

    I hope this information helps.
