This is the 3rd same question from Jan RealDealio with the same topic.

    Here are the 3 threads:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/2179978/vm-disappeared-need-to-restore-without-os-disk

I am not sure if asking the same question multiple times is helpful.

If there is no backup, for instance an Azure backup or snapshot, the deleted disk can't be restored.

Maybe it's time to accept, the disk of the deleted Azure VM is deleted and gone.

I know the feeling and it hurts. But gone is gone.

    Hello Jan RealDealio,

    Thanks for your question.

If you deleted both the VM and the OS disk, unfortunately the VM has been permanently deleted.

However if you have backups, you can restore:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/backup/backup-azure-arm-restore-vms

    For msql DB see:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/mysql/flexible-server/how-to-restore-dropped-server

Please let me know if yoiu require further assistance

    Regards,

    Abiola

    Hi Jan RealDealio,

We have noticed that you have rated an answer as not helpful. We appreciate your feedback and are committed to improving your experience with the Q&A.

Unfortunately, if a backup was not created there is no chance to recover a deleted Disk in Azure. Azure does not provide a built-in mechanism to recover the deleted disk. Once a disk is deleted, it is typically considered permanently lost.

I recommend implementing a regular backup strategy moving forward to help safeguard your data against accidental deletions in the future.

If you have any further queries, do let us know.
