Entra ID P2 isnt activating in my Azure tenant

Ive activated the Entra ID P2 free trial and my billing account shows it as active since yesterday, but in Azure its still not activating and gives an error when trying to "activate" Entra ID P2. Need some assistance here please!

    Form your admin ID (from which you signed as Azure free account to get $200), you're not able to activate the trail license (due to some kind of limitation with your id noted at Microsoft end), so create one new user and assigned Microsoft Entra ID "Global Administrator" role. Now from this newly created ID you should be able to activate your free trial.

    Issue: Cannot add an Entra ID P2 trial to your new Azure Free Trial account/ Tenant.

    Solution: Create a new user and assign that user the Global Admin role.

    STEPS:

    1. Login to your Azure Free Account, go into Entra ID and create a new user.
    2. Add/assign that user as a Global Administrator and reset that user's password.
    3. Activate the free Entra ID P2 trial
    4. When it asks for the email address, copy the User principal name (from step 2)

    It will state that this username is being used by another MS Service and gives you the opportunity to login with that user. Login using the password you set earlier.

    You should then be redirected to a page that shows you the Entra ID P2 trial with a “Try now” button. After activating the trial, you should - might - get a few error/configuration messages stating that the Sold-to address, Registration number needs amending first.

    1. In the MS365 Admin Center (which you are redirected too) - check that the Billing accounts default directory correlates to the email address you used to create the Azure Free Account. (You should have the same created users as you do in the Free Azure account).
    2. Amend the Sold-to address details, check the Registration number (which I selected that I didn’t have one) from the Billing Accounts section and then add a valid payment method.
    3. Logout, close browsers / clear cache.
    4. Log back in to the Azure portal using your Free Azure Account email and start the Entra ID P2 trial process again.
    5. Follow step 5 (you should now be able to start the Entra ID P2 trial without any issues or notifications).
    6. Go back to the Azure portal (after you have logged out, close all browsers), go to Licences > All Products and assign the MS Entra ID P2 Licence to your main Azure Free Account overlord!

    Done - you now have an Entra ID P2 licence assigned to the main Free Account user.
