Having issues with SharePoint Migration Manager Tool permissions

I am migrating a number of file shares on an on prem windows server to SharePoint Online. The account I aum using for the migration has the Sharepoint Manager role as well as Global Admin for this test. For the test I am only moving one file share from on prem to a document library folder. I have site admin and owner rights on that Sharepoint site. The on prem file server account with the file share in question and the agent is using an account that has access to all the file shares (tested with the Agent). But I cannot get the migration to work. Every time I run the task I get this error.

"The user '******@xxxxxxxxxx.com' does not have enough permission". Exception ID 0x02010017

What am I missing?

    Good days.

    The error code 0x02010017 is telling you that the account used for migration isn’t recognized as a Site Collection Administrator on the destination site. Even though your account has global admin and SharePoint Manager roles—and you’re a site owner—SharePoint Online requires that the migration account be explicitly added as a Site Collection Administrator on the target site. Global admin status does not automatically grant site collection admin rights on every site.

    Please add the Account as a Site Collection Admin as follow steps:

    1. Navigate to your target SharePoint Online site.
    2. Go to Site Settings or click on the gear icon and choose Site Permissions.
    3. Click on Advanced permissions settings (you can also access this by appending /_layouts/15/user.aspx to your site URL).
    4. In the Site Collection Administrators section, ensure that the migration account (******@xxxxxxxxxx.com) is added.

    Then, confirm that any other accounts the migration tool or agent might be using also have the required permissions.

    Finally, you can try the migration again and see the result.
