Microsoft Partner Center: Verification fails at "Employment verification"

Our verification fails at "Employment verification". No information is displayed, no panel on the right side to submit documents, no email is sent. Clicking the "Fix Now" button does nothing. An endless loop of rejections. What's going on at Microsoft? Don't you want our apps in your store?

Our D-U-N-S number, which we have provided to you, is unique. Our domain is unique. You can look up our company in the commercial register. We have been successful in the Apple and Google Store for many years. I wasted hours today trying to verify the developer account, without success. My patience with Microsoft is slowly running out. The support tickets cannot be viewed with the error: "There was a problem retrieving the support request details."

How exactly can we successfully verify our developer account?

I just received an email from Microsoft Support. They want proof that the domain belongs to us. The invoice must not be older than 12 months and the domain must not expire in the next 60 days. The last 12-month renewal of the domain was on April 6, 2024 and the invoice for it is dated April 30, 2024. So the domain expires in the next 60 days and will not be renewed until April 6, 2025.

We should now enter a different domain??? Forget it, Microsoft. We're out.

The mail form Microsoft Support:

„Thank you for reaching out. We are unable to verify your account based on the information you’ve provided and are requesting additional information.

Please provide domain invoice for [DOMAIN-NAME]

We need to verify that your company owns the domain that you used when you enrolled into Partner Center. This can be an invoice, purchase receipt for the domain, but it MUST meet the following criteria:

1) List a domain that is an exact match to the one you are enrolling in Partner Center.

2) Include your company’s name (also match the company name you are enrolling into Partner Center)

3) Have a purchase, renewal date not older than 12 months from the current date and not expiring in less than 60 days.

If it is not possible to provide additional documentation, please update your domain information to match the documents already provided.“

For your scenario, please open a free support ticket here: Contact Us. Select Developer, Student and Startup Programs -> Windows Developer Center-> Account Management in the support page.

You could talk to the store team directly and confirm this behavior. The store team could check the status of your account in the back end.

Our account has just been verified. Here is important information for everyone who creates a company account and whose verification fails immediately with a red "Employment verification".

Under "Contact info" you must enter the name of your company under "Publisher name' exactly as it appears in the DUNS number information. Only then will your account actually be submitted for verification. At least that's how it was for us. A day later, we were asked for an invoice for the domain. After submitting the invoice, our account was fully verified.

Now we are at tax profile verification through Microsoft. Let's see if that works without any problems.
