Microsoft Authenticator Verification Code Issue

Dear Support Team,

I am writing from China to report an issue with the Microsoft Authenticator verification code that is preventing access to a client-shared file. Previously, accessing the file only required an 8-digit code sent via email. However, the process now requires an additional step: entering a verification code from the Microsoft Authenticator app. Despite multiple attempts, the app-generated code is consistently rejected as "not the expected code."

Details of the Issue:

  1. The Authenticator app initially displayed an 8-digit code, but the system only allowed input of the first 6 digits.
  2. Following online guidance, I signed into my Microsoft account and scanned a QR code with the Authenticator app to generate a 6-digit code. However, this code is still rejected as "not the expected code."
  3. Troubleshooting steps already completed:
    • Ensured date/time synchronization on the device.
    • Confirmed account synchronization in the Authenticator app.
    • Enabled auto-fill settings.

This issue is urgent as it is blocking access to critical client files.

Request:

Please investigate and resolve the verification code mismatch error. If additional information is required, contact me directly at: [******@hefung.com] (this email is also a personal Microsoft account).

Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.

Best regards,
