I installed VS 2022, 17.13.0, and included "LINQ to SQL" in Code tools. But LINQ is still not installed.
I read up on StackOverflow, and watched a few videos, but I have no idea why I still cannot get LINQ
installed.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Current config:
ASP.NET and web development, .NET desktop development, data storage and processing, VS extension development, .NET Framework 4.7.2 dev tools. .NET Framework 4.8 dev tools
Why don’t you use Linq to Entities at least for your ASP.NET app?

you use visual studio installer to add support. run installer, click on modify, at the top select "individual components" instead of workloads. search for "linq to sql tools"
Thanks for responding, but even with the checkbox checked for LINQ to SQL Tools, it doesn't work. I have quite a number of anomalies. I can only create new projects of type "ASP.NET Core", but not "ASP Net Web Application", and no references to Report Projects either.
This is a mess! I'll try uninstalling and doing a complete re-install. It might have something to do with the fact that I logged in as not admin, but was given admin rights for the VS installer.
visual studio does minimum install of features and sdks. you pick workloads which define what project types are supported. each workloads default install may not include legacy sdks or project templates, you need to customize the workload install.
don't know what you mean Report projects, if you mean SSRS, then you need to download and install the "Microsoft Reporting Services Projects 2022" extension (as it not part of VS). you can use the install extension menu :
