I have set up my home computer for remote desktop access so that I can connect to it from my workplace office. Ever since doing this, Bitdefender highlights multiple brute-force attacks blocked every day. What I would like to do is to set up 2FA for my personal computer so that when I log on through remote desktop access app, I am required to confirm it through my authenticator app before being able to log on. Is it possible to set this up? I have Windows 11 professional on my home PC.

Windows does not have built-in 2FA specifically for RDP connections. You’ll need a third-party solution.

DUO Security is one of the most popular solutions.

Alternatively, Microsoft Authenticator with Azure AD. This requires an Azure AD subscription, so it’s best suited for business environments.
