Hi,

We plan to switch to Microsoft Entra External ID as a replacement for our current setup based on Azure AD B2C.

In order to do this, we will need to configure a custom OIDC provider. I saw that Microsoft Entra External ID support for Custom OIDC provider is currently in preview: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/identity/openid-connect-external-identity-provider-support-public-preview/

When can we expect to have Custom OIDC provider support Generally Available?

Having this feature Generally Available is a must-have for us before going with Entra External ID in production.

    Hi @Mera, C (Claudiu)

Thank you for posting this in Microsoft Q&A.

I understand your concern about the general availability of the Custom OIDC provider in Entra External ID.

The Custom OpenID Connect external identity provider feature is expected to be available this year. However, we are currently unable to provide a specific release date.

I suggest regularly checking this page for monthly updates on external tenants.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.

    Thanks,

    Navya.
