The Full Text Policy for containers in Cosmos DB only currently supports the English language. Has there been any announcement as to when other languages are expected to be supported?

    Hi @Pablo Oliva,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform! Thank you for asking your question here.

As we understand that, you are inquiring about the announcement regarding the support for additional languages in the Full Text Policy for containers in Cosmos DB.

As of now, Azure Cosmos DB's Full Text Search feature supports only the English language. There has not been any official announcement regarding the support for additional languages. The current documentation specifies that English ("en-us") is the only supported language at this time. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cosmos-db/gen-ai/full-text-search

However, it is worth noting that full text search is still in preview, and there might be regional limitations or specific configurations required.

Note: Full Text & Hybrid Search (preview) may not be available in all regions at this time. Wild card characters (*, []) are not currently supported in the full text policy or full text index.

To stay updated on any future enhancements or language support expansions, it's advisable to monitor official Azure updates and announcements. https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/updates
