Hello Microsoft Staff,

I'm writing to report an issue that I've encountered with Windows 10 LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) on my system. After enabling Windows HD Color in the display settings, my computer is now unable to boot properly. I'm sharing my experience here in hopes of finding a solution or getting some assistance from the community and Microsoft.

Details of the Issue‌:

  • Operating System‌: Windows 10 LTSC
  • Hardware‌: 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i5 Processor

I'm not sure about the specific configuration of this machine because it's a computer in my classroom. If I can obtain more information, I will provide updates.

Steps Leading to the Problem‌:

  1. I navigated to the display settings in Windows 10 LTSC.
  2. I enabled the Windows HD Color feature, which is supposed to enhance the color accuracy and HDR capabilities.
  3. After restarting my computer to apply the changes, it failed to boot properly. The system either gets stuck at the Windows logo or boots into a black screen with no response.

Attempts to Resolve the Issue‌:

  • I've tried booting into Safe Mode by repeatedly pressing F8 during startup, but the system doesn't respond to the keyboard inputs.
  • I've also attempted to use the "Advanced Startup Options" by forcing a shutdown and restarting multiple times, but the system doesn't present the option to boot into Safe Mode.
  • I've checked my hardware connections and ensured that all components are properly seated.

Request for Assistance‌:

I'm seeking help from the Microsoft Community and Microsoft support team to resolve this issue. Here are a few questions that I have:

  • Is there a known compatibility issue between Windows 10 LTSC and Windows HD Color?
  • Are there any specific troubleshooting steps that I can follow to resolve this issue without losing my data?
  • Is there a way to disable Windows HD Color from the command prompt or through any other means if I can't access the Windows interface?

I'm hoping to find a solution that doesn't require a complete system restore or reinstallation, as I have important data and applications on my system. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Best regards,

Hoshino Yumeri
