Can not drag and drop emails from inbox to folders in outlook

I am suddenly not able to drag and drop emails from my inbox into subfolders (or from any folder to any folder). I am using "Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2412 Build 16.0.18324.20092) 64-bit" on my desktop. I have Microsoft business assist and their suggestion was to use New Outlook which is still in Beta or to "wait a few days" and see if starts working again.

    Do you have windows updates waiting to install? If yes, install them. Leaving updates waiting causes outlook's behavior to degrade.

    Did you try repairing Office install? Quick repair should be sufficient. Right click on the start menu and choose Apps & Features, find and select the Office installation. Choose Modify then select the Quick repair option. Use the Quick Repair option first as it will fix many things and complete fairly quickly.

    If neither of the above (or a reboot) doesn't fix it, when did the problem start?
