Hi,

Our company is considering using Open AI services through Azure Open AI (https://azure.microsoft.com/zh-cn/products/ai-services/openai-service/#FAQ). In this case, we would like to know the ownership of the Output. Could you please tell me do you have any terms of use addressing this issue?

I have gone through Azure Open AI’s terms but cannot find clause addressing the output ownership (only have a private policy addressing data-related issues, and a CCC commitment - but still can't answer the ownership question).

Look forward to your prompt response. Thanks!

    Hi @Charlotte Chen

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum!

Microsoft's Terms of Service generally state that customers retain ownership of their input and output when using Azure OpenAI services.

Here you are the owner, or you own the content you input (Data, Queries etc) and at the same time you own the generated outputs from the model

Microsoft does not claim ownership over your inputs or outputs.

Please refer to the below document

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/legal/cognitive-services/openai/data-privacy?tabs=azure-portal

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
