Need to ping connectivity between AVS vCenter and on-prem AD to check for open port.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Since direct SSH access to the vCenter Server Appliance in Azure VMware Solution (AVS) is not permitted, you can use alternative methods to check connectivity between AVS vCenter and on-premises Active Directory. Here are two approaches you can consider:

    • Use vSphere Client: Log in to the vSphere Client for your AVS environment and navigate to the vCenter Server settings, then look for a network diagnostics or connectivity test tool within the vSphere Client interface. Use this tool to perform a ping or port connectivity test to your on-premises AD server.
    • Deploy a jumpbox VM: Create a small VM within your AVS environment to act as a jumpbox, ensure this VM has network access to both the vCenter and your on-premises network. Use this jumpbox to perform ping tests and port connectivity checks between AVS and your on-premises AD.
