I want to use microsoft authenticator app to enable 2fa in my android app

currently my android app written in java is simply calling an api with the user credentials to verify the user but now i want to implement 2fa using the authenticator app and the catch is that the user is not entering any email for their credential can anyone redirect me to an easier documentation i have found some but it was too confusing for me because i dont even know the complete step in the app as well as the backend servers to implement this 2fa
Is this possible or i am too dumb
