Visual Studio Setting Not Being Saved or Used

I have Checked this option:
*Tools>Options>Text Editor>All Languages>General:Hide advanced members*
That option is also checked under Visual Basic. However, advanced members are being displayed when I do a Ctrl-J. I have tried unchecking this, exiting VS and rechecking it to no avail.
Either I am checking the wrong option or something else is amiss.
Any Suggestions on how to disable showing of advanced Members?

2025-02-01T19:15:39.74+00:00 I'm don't understand the question. Here's an example: Suppose I put the cursor on the word "Me" in the following line of code:
RaiseEvent PropertyChanged(Me, New PropertyChangedEventArgs(Name))and press Ctrl-J. I get well over 100 possible choices, most of which are meaningless in the context of "Property Changed".

2025-02-02T05:31:16.4+00:00 Ctrl-J is just a shortcut to show parameter information. Yes, "Hide advanced members" means, well, "hide advanced members" when Ctrl-J is entered. The only unknown is why it is not working.
