Problem with new limits in version 4.0 GA for composed models

Hello,

According to the documentation, version 4.0 GA offers an increased limit of models (500) that can be included in a composed model. I am able to create a classification model that contains more than 200 classes, but when I try to create a compsed model I get an error - The parameter ComponentModels is invalid: Include 200 models or fewer. This issue occurs in both Studio and the API request. I checked and I'm sure I'm using the latest version of the API.

The issue you’re facing is likely because the new 4.0 GA version of Document Intelligence requires an explicit classification model before composing models. While the new version allows up to 500 models, this only works if you first train a classifier to sort documents before assigning extraction models. If you are still using the old method without a classifier, the system may limit you to 200 models. To fix this, make sure you train a classification model first, then assign extraction models for each document type before composing them. Also, check that you're using the 2024-11-30 (GA) API version, as older versions may still have the 200-model limit.
