I am creating an application to extract data from Sharepoint to Azure Datalake Storage, but I see that the procedures refer to grant permissions to an Azure Active Directory App Registration in the url _layouts/15/appinv.aspx, but I do not know if it is an updated solution? since Azure Access Control service (ACS) will be retired for SharePoint in Microsoft 365 in 2026. So this page (_layouts/15/appinv.aspx) will be retired along with Azure ACS? or it is independent and will remain valid and we can use it to register applications.

The retirement of Azure Access Control Service (ACS) for SharePoint in Microsoft 365 will indeed impact the use of the _layouts/15/appinv.aspx page. According to the information available, Azure ACS will be fully retired by April 2nd, 2026, and this retirement will affect all environments.

Therefore, the _layouts/15/appinv.aspx page, which is used to grant permissions to Azure Active Directory App Registrations, will no longer be a valid solution for registering applications once Azure ACS is retired.

Microsoft recommends transitioning to using Microsoft Entra ID for authorization and authentication needs. This modern authentication method will replace the functionalities provided by Azure ACS.
