Fairly new to AD Connect/O365

Question

We have a cloud product that depends on authentication for our users via AD Connect synching with the Azure backend. I have 2 issues:

1. It appears that AD Connect has been replaced with Entra Connect, necessitating an upgrade. It appears synching is broke and I think that's why. We don't have too many user changes, so I'm just discovering it.
2. AD Connect is currently installed on a server I wish to decommission. Rather than updating AD Connect to Entra Connect on that existing server, I'd like to install Entra Connect on a new, redundant AD server.

Seems like the new install would solve both my issues at once. We only have 40 users to synch, so resynching is no big deal. Can I just do a new install of Entra Connect on the new server as planned, and once done, simply decommission the old server?

I would like to clarify that AD Connect is not replaced with Entra Connect. Microsoft has rebranded Azure AD Connect as Microsoft Entra Connect, if your Entra Connect is working as expected you no need to do any change and no need to change the server. However, ensure your Microsoft Entra connect version is V2.
If you wish would decommission the server and install the Entra connect in new server, you can, but make sure that you have backup configuration as like earlier server.
