Will Azure AI Vision: Video Retrieval and Summary be retired after March 2025?

I was reading about Azure AI Vision today and noticed that there was a message saying that 'On 30 March 2025, Azure AI Vision Spatial Analysis will be retired.' I was not sure whether this covered the Video Retrieval and Summary functionality also or would we still be able to use that functionality after March 30th?

If it is still usable after Spatial Analysis is retired, is the way we can use it going to change? In terms of resources needed or APIs/SDKs?

    Hello Manpreet Mandair,

Greetings and Welcome to Microsoft Q&A! Thanks for posting the question.

As of now, Microsoft has not made any official announcement regarding the retirement of Azure AI Vision's Video Retrieval and Summary functionality after March 30, 2025. The announced retirement specifically applies to the Spatial Analysis feature, which is set to be discontinued on that date.

Video Retrieval and Summary, a separate capability within Azure AI Vision, allows developers to create media indexes, upload videos and images, and perform searches using natural language queries. As of now, there is no indication that these features will be discontinued or that their usage will be affected after the retirement of Spatial Analysis.

However, you can keep an eye on the Azure AI Vision release notes for updates on What's new in Azure AI Vision page will be updated accordingly with more details.

I Hope this helps. Do let me know if you have any further queries.
