Azure Virtual Desktop (SSO) for external users

Question

Hi, after some research i found that external users (other Entra ID tenant, guest users, or other identity providers) are still not supported for SSO to Azure Virtual Desktop (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/faq#does-azure-virtual-desktop-support-guest-users-).

For now we're solving this mostly with Citrix and FAS. But it would be nice if this functionality is also available in Azure AVD.

In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nbmj5qUHzlo, i saw it was on a roadmap (+/- 57 min). Will this be coming to AVD in some form sometime soon?

Regarding future support for this, there hasn’t been an official announcement or timeline from Microsoft.

You can create a thread in https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/ to suggest this to the engineering team as high priority for you. The engineering team takes a look at items to prioritize in the development phase.
