Open System Properties > Computer Name tab > Change.

    Temporarily change the computer name.

Set the system to join a Workgroup instead of the domain.

    Reboot.

    Open Windows 2003 server.

System Properties > Computer Name > Change

Rename the server to its original name.

    Rejoin the domain and Reboot.
