Custom Domain for my static web app is in "validating" state for over 20 hours

I have hosted web application on Azure static web app service. Since by default, it creates a random domain name for the application, I created a DNS Zone for a custom domain name. I added this to my Static web application and it has been stuck in the "validating" stage for over 20 hours now. Is this normal ?

Check that the correct DNS records are set for your custom domain in the DNS provider's settings.
Make sure you’ve added a CNAME record for your custom domain (e.g.,
www.example.com) that points to your Azure Static Web App's default domain (e.g.,red-sea-0f9e875a10.1.azurestaticapps.net).If no progress occurs after verifying the above, consider removing the custom domain from the Azure portal and re-adding it.

2025-01-30T00:29:59.7766667+00:00 I had done exactly the same. I had removed the DNS Zone itself waited for few hours, added a new one but am having the same issue, i.e. I re-added custom domain to my static web app but kept on validating for few hours and then it threw "unknown error" without any details.
When check on DNS checker, my custom domain shows under type "A" but not for type "CNAME". Also, I have recordset CNAME associated with my static web app default domain and recordset A with name "@" with alias target pointed to my static web app resource.

2025-01-30T09:15:29.73+00:00 Hi, since your domain shows under type 'A' but not 'CNAME,' try these steps:
- Check CNAME propagation via dnschecker.org.
- Ensure you're using a CNAME pointing to
*.azurestaticapps.netinstead of an A record. - If both A and CNAME exist, remove the A record and keep only CNAME.
(4) Check Azure Portal > Static Web App > Custom Domains for updates. - Review Azure Activity Logs for errors.
If still stuck, consider an Azure support request.
