Bing News On a Budget: Is There a Way to Get More "Basic" API Calls?

Hi! I'm just a person developing a small Python script/app at home, and ran out of the 1000 free Bing News API calls testing it out. (I'm grateful for the 1000 calls!) Now I'm kinda stuck, because I hit the rate limit and got sticker-shock.

Do you know if there's a way to get more of the basic (3/sec) Bing News API calls that exist at the free tier without paying $25 for what appears to be the next available option: the S1 option? I'm shocked at the price. I was hoping to spend a couple of dollars re-upping API calls for basic testing again.

Since I've already spent significant time integrating this API, I'm hoping there's a lower-cost option possible. (Something under $5.)

Hoping to continue testing!

    Hi @DavidC,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum!

Unfortunately, the free tier provides a limited number of calls (1,000 per month) and there are no cheaper options between the free tier and the $25/month S1 plan for the Bing News API.

However, you can try this an alternative might help: If you need more than the 1,000 calls, you could try reaching out to Microsoft support to explain your situation. Sometimes, for smaller projects or development, they might offer flexibility or even an extended free trial.

While it's tough to find a lower-cost option for Bing News specifically, exploring other APIs or reaching out to support could help with your needs.

I hope you understand. Do let us know if you any further queries.
