My customer initially subscribed to Microsoft 365 OE1 with 300 licenses and Microsoft Business Standard with 300 licenses. They required a solution for Microsoft Purview Information Protection and DLP for Endpoint, which is currently under trial.
To address this need, I provisioned the following add-ons to their existing licenses:
- Microsoft 365 E5 Information Protection and Governance – to enable DLP for Endpoint.
- Enterprise Mobility + Security E3 – to leverage Azure Information Protection for use with desktop Office applications.
The solution has been deployed successfully, and the following functionalities are working as intended:
- Blocking copy-to-clipboard actions from Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files with a defined label policy applied On Desktop App .
Current Issue:
However, there is an issue with Office on the Web. While the DLP for Endpoint policies effectively block copy-to-clipboard actions in desktop applications, the same restriction is not being enforced in the web versions of Office applications.
Request for Assistance:
Do you have any recommendations or solutions for deploying DLP policies to effectively block copy-to-clipboard actions in Office on the Web? Any deployment guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated. My customer initially subscribed to Microsoft 365 OE1 with 300 licenses and Microsoft Business Standard with 300 licenses.
