Why do I get notifications for my coworkers accepting meetings on outlook calendar?

I set up an outlook calendar for my office to put events & request time off. When someone wants to request time off, they will put it in the calendar & invite our boss. The idea is that his acceptance to the invite means he approves the time off.
It turns out that the creator of the event does not get the acceptance notification from our boss - I do. How can I make it to where the creator of the calendar event gets the acceptance notification & I do not?
