nginx version of php web app in Azure China

I created a web app with php 8.3 as the runtime in Azure China, and I found its nginx version is 1.26.1, we expected it to be equal or higher than 1.26.2, so I wanted to confirm if there is a plan to upgrade web app's nginx version, thank you very much.

I have tried to deploy an app service with PHP 8.3 runtime in west us and from SSH I can see that it is running on nginx 1.26.1 only.

If you want to upgrade the existing version to 1.26.2 you can add the below command as startup command in configuration under General Settings of your app service.

apt-get update && apt-get install -y nginx

Regarding the plan to upgrade the nginx version in php apps across the regions I am checking with team internally on this and will update you here once I hear back from them.

@VenkateshDodda-MSFT thanks for offering that startup command to us, based on our customer's test, they found the correct startup command should be apt-get update && apt-get install -y nginx && service nginx restart

Executing this updated command resulted in the Nginx version displayed in the response header updating to 1.26.2. Could you please confirm from your side whether a restart is indeed necessary for the changes to take effect? thank you very very much.

@Gallatin 21V Thanks for your patience on this. I have checked App service Engineering and sharing the below.

The updated versions of Nginx >1.26.1 for PHP stack is in the product roadmap and the Nginx v1.26.2 rollout will be available in next few weeks (Note: This ETA is not exact timeline which might be changed based on various factors).
