Should I need to pay again to retake exam in which I have failed for AZ900 certification?

I have seen the retake policy, which says one can attempt a certification five times in 12 months. My question is, are these five attempts chargeable each time? If not, how can I apply to retake the certification that I have failed? I have also completed the 24-hour wait time.

    Hi,

Normally you have to pay each time to retake a exam. One exception to this is if you purchased an offer that includes free retake, such as "Microsoft Exam Replay".

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/support/retake-policy#microsoft-certification-exam-retake-policy-for-role-based-specialty-and-fundamentals-exams

    Excerpt from above:

    • If you don’t pass an exam the first time, you must wait 24 hours before retaking it.
    • A 14-day waiting period is imposed between all subsequent attempts (up to 5).
    • You may not take a given exam more than five (5) times within a 12-month period from the first attempt. If you failed the exam 5 times, you’ll be eligible to retake it again 12 months from the date of your first attempt.
    • You cannot retake an exam you’ve passed unless your Certification has expired.
    • You must pay to retake the exam (if applicable.)
