alert not triggering on azure sql

Hi , we configured alert rule for static ,aggregation type average, greater then , threshold 40% on sql db ealier alerts was worked last few days not working this prod db we are facing lot of issue unless see the metrics then we know the cpu status please look into this issue

@NIKHILA NETHIKUNTA we using azure monitor , azure alert rules are configured and tested action group am able receive test email ,alert rules are enabled we troubleshooted the alert rules however it not working kindly guide us on priority basis

Here are a few steps and considerations to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check that Aggregation type and Aggregation granularity (Period) are configured as expected.

Check that Threshold value or Sensitivity are configured as expected.

For an alert rule that uses Dynamic Thresholds, check if advanced settings are configured.

Check if there's already a fired alert on the metric time series for which you expected to get an alert.

Check the aggregation and time granularity. The selected Aggregation in the metric chart is the same as Aggregation type in your alert rule.

If you created the alert rule in the Azure portal, clear the Automatically resolve alerts option under the Alert rule details section. The frequency of notifications for stateless metric alerts differs based on the alert rule's configured frequency.

Check the metric data: Ensure that the monitored metric (e.g., CPU usage, DTU, etc.) is actually exceeding the threshold you configured in the alert rule.

Check Metric Values: Ensure CPU usage is crossing the 40% threshold. If it's consistently below, no alert will trigger.

Alert Evaluation Period: Make sure the evaluation period is set appropriately, as short spikes might not trigger an alert.

Action Group: Confirm that the action group is properly configured and that notifications (email, SMS, etc.) are enabled.

Azure Service Status: Check if there are any ongoing issues with Azure monitoring or alerting services.
