I am attempting to install Windows 10 Pro on a new PC and join it to our organization using a Microsoft 365 Business Premium account. The installation runs from a USB drive created with the installation tool from Microsoft’s official site: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10.

When I try to configure the PC for the organization with the correct M365 account (which has a Business Premium license assigned), I receive error code 80190194. I have already verified that:

The M365 account is correct and active.

The license (Business Premium) is properly assigned to the account.

The Windows version is Windows 10 Pro.

Questions:

Do I need a Windows 10 Enterprise license to successfully configure the device with Intune and Azure AD?

Or is there a configuration issue in Intune/Azure AD that is causing this error?

I would greatly appreciate input from anyone who has experienced this error or knows how to resolve it.

Thank you in advance!

Error code 80190194 typically indicates a problem with the device's ability to connect to Azure AD or Intune during the enrollment process. Based on the context provided, there are a few points to consider:

    1. Windows 10 Pro vs. Windows 10 Enterprise: You do not need a Windows 10 Enterprise license to enroll a device in Intune or Azure AD. Windows 10 Pro is sufficient for joining Azure AD and managing devices through Intune.
    2. Configuration Issues: The error may stem from configuration settings in Intune or Azure AD. Ensure that:
      • The MDM authority is correctly set up in Intune.
      • There are no enrollment restrictions preventing the device from being added to Azure AD.
      • The user account has the necessary permissions to enroll devices.
    3. Account and License Verification: Since you have verified that the M365 account is active and has the Business Premium license, it’s crucial to check if there are any specific policies or restrictions in your Azure AD that might be affecting the enrollment process.

If the issue persists, consider reviewing the Intune and Azure AD settings or consulting with your system administrator for further assistance.

@Johnny Erlandsen, Thanks for posting in Q&A. For your first question, I would like to say no, windows 10 pro is supported in Intune. It's OK to use windows 10 pro.

Meanwhile, please ensure the network requirement are met in your environment.

In addition, please ensure MDM authority is set as Intune.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/mdm-authority-set

And Microsoft Entra ID join is enabled.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/devices/device-join-plan#users-might-join-devices-to-microsoft-entra-id

Automatic enrollment is configured with "MDM user scope" set to ALL.

Please try the above suggestion and if there's any update, feel free to let us know.
